Coach George Odiong
Fitness and Mental Conditioning
George Odiong is an elite tennis professional with over 24 years of international coaching experience across the United States, Nigeria, and the UAE. He’s highly regarded for his ability to develop young talent from grassroots to competitive levels, particularly children in the pre-K to 11th-grade range. His expertise spans individual and group instruction, high-performance training, talent identification, and curriculum design, all delivered through a Game-Based Approach that balances fun with skill advancement.
George has held major roles in prestigious programs including the Junior Tennis Championship Center (JTCC) in Maryland, where he mentored U10 and U12 champions and served as a travel coach for ITF/USTA tournaments. As an assistant coach for Howard University’s Men and Women’s teams, he helped lead the women’s team to a MEAC championship win. In addition to his coaching, George has worked as a substitute teacher for nearly a decade, giving him a strong edge in youth development and education. His academic foundation includes a B.A. in Physical and Health Education from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria. He holds multiple certifications, including Professional Tennis Registry (PTR), USTA High Performance Coaching, and ASEP’s Coaching Youth Tennis program.
