Coach Abe Babatunde

Emmanuel Babatunde Abe, born on 7th July, 1945, is from Ekiti, in the Ido-Osi local government area of Nigeria. He is a proud father of three children. Mr. Abe has an impressive academic background with a B.Sc in Biochemistry and graduate studies in Cardiovascular Physiology from the University of Minnesota (U of M). In addition to his academic achievements, Mr. Abe has an extensive tennis career spanning 43 years. He holds Professional 1 certifications from both the United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) and the United States Tennis Registry (USPTR). He also holds a USA High Performance Coaching Certificate and is a specialist in Competitive Player Development.
Mr. Abe’s tennis employment history is equally impressive. He served as the head coach for the St. Paul/Minneapolis Inner City Tennis Programme for 10 years and was also the head coach at Woodbury Tennis Club USA, Benide-St. Margret High School USA, and St. Paul High School USA. He coached USA League for many years and started the Fort-Snelling Tennis and Education Programme for minority kids in St. Paul, USA.
Mr. Abe also conducted a two-week high performance training in India and is the CEO and founder of Abelife Tennis Academy in Nigeria. He serves as a tennis consultant for Ekiti State in Nigeria and continues to coach and develop players at Abelife Tennis Academy, often traveling with players to tournaments.
