David Peter Ekpenyong

David Peter Ekpenyong, born on December 30, 2005, is a standout player at Aurum Tennis Academy (ATA), currently competing in the International Tennis Federation (ITF) Junior Circuit. As a founding member of ATA, David's exceptional progress is evident in his current ranking. He joined the academy in October 2022, initially ranked No.32 in Nigeria by the Nigeria Tennis Federation (NTF).

In May 2023, David's remarkable achievements include being the runner-up in the Vemp Open Tennis Championship and securing victories in the Davenotch National Open Tennis Championship and the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Senior Open tournament in Abuja. These accomplishments propelled him to become Nigeria's top-ranked player in both the NTF 2023 National Junior and Senior rankings.

Recognized by the ITF as the No. 1 player in Nigeria and ranked 257th globally in the 18 & Under Circuit, David is steadfastly committed to enhancing his performance. To elevate his standings in the Junior Circuit and advance his tennis career, he has registered for several tournaments in Canada from July to September 2023, with plans to extend his participation to tournaments worldwide. His aspiration is to acquire a multiple-entry Canadian visa, facilitating his involvement in numerous competitions.

Anticipating his eighteenth birthday in December 2023, David's trajectory is set to transition to the Senior ITF Circuit. His journey will encompass participating in tournaments across Canada and various corners of the globe, further cementing his presence in the international tennis arena.
